Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 September 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
The credit rule
Unused credits you bought are refundable for 14 days from the date of purchase. Credits you have already spent are not refundable. If you close your account, unused credits bought within the last 14 days are refunded to the original payment method on request; unused credits older than 14 days lapse, and purchased credits cannot be transferred to another account. This is the rule for credits you have bought. Credits you have earned as an App Expert are separate and are paid out by request — see the payout rule below.
If you earn on the marketplace
For each task you deliver you earn the task price less a 15% platform fee. The earning is pending until the client accepts the delivered task; if the client neither accepts nor raises a problem within 7 days of delivery, it becomes payable automatically. Payouts are not automatic: you request one from your earnings page for any amount from €50 to €10,000, to a bank account in your own name (IBAN, BIC, account holder and bank country). Staff review each request and pay it by manual bank transfer, and record the transfer reference on your earnings page. Bank transfer is the only payout method.
Cobalt, the website at cobalt.boutique, is operated by MARKETRONIX LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17331464, whose registered office is at Dept 6916, 196 High Road, Wood Green, London, N22 8HH, United Kingdom ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our services you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Cobalt provides on-demand cloud Mac workstations for iOS and macOS app developers, including remote access to dedicated Apple Mac mini M4 machines with Xcode, the Simulator and the Swift toolchain, and, once the marketplace opens at launch, access to verified App Experts for hire. Services are provided on a credit-based, pay-as-you-go model with no subscriptions.
3. How the Service Is Delivered
A workstation is delivered as remote access to a physical Apple Mac operated by our infrastructure supplier. When you launch a session, the machine is prepared and its connection details — an AnyDesk address and password — appear on your Active session page inside your account. You connect with the AnyDesk client from any computer. Nothing is shipped to you and there is no physical delivery. Your files stay on the Mac for the whole session; when the session ends the Mac is handed back and wiped, so keep your work in your own repository.
The Device Farm (sessions on real iPhones and iPads) is not yet available and nothing is charged for it. When it opens, its rates will be stated on our Pricing page before any session can be booked, and these terms will be updated first.
Work bought from an App Expert is delivered entirely inside the platform: you create a task, an Expert is assigned to it, and all briefing, questions, progress and hand-over happen in that task's message thread in your account. We do not broker work off-platform and do not pass your contact details to an Expert.
Credits are added to your balance as soon as a payment is confirmed, and are visible in your account immediately.
4. Account Registration
To use our services, you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
Each account is one person's sign-in: there are no seats to manage and no shared team workspace. You may open and use it for yourself or for a studio, company or other organisation. When you use it for an organisation, that organisation is the customer under these terms and is responsible for the account and everything bought through it, and you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
Rights that the law gives only to consumers, such as the statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase, apply to an individual buying for personal use and not to an organisation buying for its business. Everything our policies promise, including the refund of unused credits, applies to every customer alike.
5. Payment Terms
All purchases are one-time transactions and Cobalt does not offer subscriptions. Credits purchased do not expire. Refunds are available for unused credits within 14 days of purchase, subject to our Refund Policy. We will accept Visa and Mastercard; card payments are not open yet and no card can be charged until they open at launch. All payments are processed securely by our payment provider with industry-standard encryption. These Terms incorporate, and purchases are additionally governed by, our Payment Policy, Cancellation Policy, Cookie Policy and AML & KYC Policy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our services for:
- Any illegal activities or violation of applicable laws
- Cryptocurrency mining (strictly prohibited, results in immediate termination)
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or harmful software
- Violation of intellectual property rights
- Any activity that could harm our infrastructure or other users
7. Data Security
Traffic to Cobalt is encrypted with TLS, and AnyDesk encrypts your connection to the Mac. A Mac is yours alone for its session and is wiped when the session ends, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we do not promise an availability target. Planned maintenance that affects the service is listed on our Changelog page.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MARKETRONIX LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes are published on this page, with the revision date at the top updated, at least 30 days before they take effect, and are listed on our Changelog page. If you do not accept a change, stop using the services and ask us to refund any credits still eligible under the Refund Policy before it takes effect.
11. Eligibility and Restrictions
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
Our services are available worldwide except in Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Cuba: we do not open new accounts there. See our AML & KYC Policy.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the services complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations. Services may not be available in jurisdictions where they would be prohibited by law.
We may restrict, suspend or end access to the service in a region or for a user only where the law, sanctions or export-control rules require it, or where an account breaks these Terms (see section 6).
12. Governing Law and Disclaimers
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and, where applicable, European Union law. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country; nothing in these Terms removes a mandatory consumer-protection right available to you in your country of residence.
Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
